During the day on Friday everything was calm in the capital of Libya, remember that it is a day of prayer for Muslims, we went to tour some city neighborhoods and met with constant demonstrations for Mohamad Gaddafi.
After a 3 hours we arrived at the Mosque of the neighborhood Falshlum an area close to the green square at the end time of peace, a group of men who were inside the building came out and cry against the Colonel, found in front with a mass of green flags and banners, which were also used to stop the work of the press. That was when the peace of the morning was no longer news to give way to confrontation, a man was arrested by the crowd, severely beaten and handed over to the police, while some shots of AK47, a weapon very popular on this side of the world people were running.
Amid the chaos my cameraman, Jesus Romero and I were again hampered by some who do not want to be that the image we get out of Libya, we understand your fear of cameras, it is normal after what it s media have said so but our work now is to report whatever. We should leave
for our own disturbance, then we learn that at that same time the police had confronted a group of protesters in Tajura, where we stayed for two days ... This made us think about the fragility of the peace struggle to become queen of moments from the city of Tripoli.
All night we heard shots in the highway that runs right beside the hotel where the press, we are unable to sign anything about it, only that they are noises in the middle of the night. This morning we returned to Fashlum and the center of the city, saw with joy as some retailers opened their doors in an attempt to get on with their lives, hopefully they can.
PS: The internet was blocked since Thursday, returned on Saturday morning with the same restrictions as ever. Now we want to go back to Sawiyah apparently is now fighting for control of the city that is only 40 kilometers from the capital by road from the west. Keep you informed.
Jordan and Jesus.
